About Us
The Achievement Equity core team has vast experience in developing high performing district and school leadership in California. Moving from teaching and site administration roles at each level (elementary and secondary), they have served many years in top level school administration in urban, suburban and rural districts. This includes the following leadership roles: superintendent of schools and other leadership roles ranging from curriculum, to instruction, assessment and bilingual education, to finance, to human resources, employee relations, and professional development.
Achievement Equity core team members are all certified coaches who have coached superintendents, assistant superintendents, executive cabinets, principals, school leadership teams and board members. Proficient in tailoring services and support to individual styles of learning, the Achievement Equity team differentiates their coaching strategies to ensure success.
The Achievement Equity core team has consistently demonstrated expertise in effective communication with key stakeholders, negotiation skills with collective bargaining agents, successful problem-solving in diverse educational settings, and development of successful initiatives for parents and/or community groups.
Research Knowledge and Application Skills
Each core member of Achievement Equity has a minimum of twenty years of leadership in successful reform. Members of the core team have led research-based, student-achievement professional development efforts in school districts, and county offices throughout California. Together they have acted as master trainers/coaches for over 2,500 current California administrators. Individually and together the Achievement Equity team effectively bridges current research to effective practice in the following areas:
- Systemic Reform Associated with Improved Student Achievement and closing achievement gaps
- Local District Governance
- Evaluation
- Effective Professional Development
- Systemic District Improvement
The Achievement Equity core team has extensive knowledge, skills and experience in facilitating district-level reforms and targeting the improvement of student achievement. Members of the team have developed and led governance team workshops and school district leadership team workshops and advances (instead of retreats) in more than 40 school districts in California during the past 10 years. Some of the districts include Alameda, West Contra Costa, Pasadena, Alhambra, Centralia, Westminster, Larkspur, Fremont, Desert Sands, Coachella, and Palmdale.
